At the start of the summer holiday, 42 OSJO musicians loaded their many instruments into a coach for a three-centre concert tour in the south of France.
OSJO has a long tradition of summer music tours to France, where its repertoire of jazz hits is particularly popular. Along with opportunities to perform before appreciative audiences, pupils and staff filled their days with the best of French culture, food, seaside entertainment and shopping.
The first concert of two 45-minute sets was held in the bandstand in the lively historic centre of Sanary-sur-mer.
The next day, after enjoying the port and beaches in Cassis and the famous lavender fields of Terre Ugo, the band performed an early evening concert at Place Verdun in the centre of Aix-en-Provence.
Following a tour of Avignon markets and the Palaid des Papes, the final evening concert was held at the Cour de Campredon in Isle-sur-la Sorgue.
On the long return journey home, they could not leave France without an overnight stop at Disneyland Paris where the final evening fireworks were a fitting conclusion to a triumphant music tour.
